Kids Eating in My Car – Yay or Nay?
Many of us grew up with the rule that food had to stay in the kitchen or at the dining table. Many of us still adhere to this rule because it helps keep our home cleaner. But what about our Kia? With our on-the-go life, many of us eat in our vehicle during our morning commute. The only problem is that messes happen – especially when we have kids.
Here at Lehighton Kia, we have varying thoughts on allowing kids to eat in your vehicle. We know that you spent your hard-earned money on your new Kia, and you want to keep it nice and not get it stained up right away. On the other hand, we understand that some mornings are hectic and you need to eat something to hold you over. And when you are road tripping, you want to save time and money by not stopping at a restaurant for every meal.
Maybe to enjoy the pristine interior a little longer, you could say “no food in the Kia” for the first year of ownership – or at least establish the rule for the kids. If your commuting or road tripping style includes eating in the vehicle, perhaps make an effort to choose foods that are easy to clean up in case of a spill. Stick with water and avoid soda or other soft drinks that leave a sticky mess. We also recommend staying with snacks that are easy to vacuum up after a spill. Our favorites snacks include dry cereal, pretzels, and nuts. Avoid chocolate and other candies.
