How to Get Your Car Ready for Summer

Fireworks, baseball, hot days and long family car trips– they all say summer. Summertime is a magical time of year. Picnics, parades, family get-togethers summer is the season when we are most likely to pack up the family and hop in the car. On average, Americans drive farther and at hotter temperatures during summer. We tend to think about getting our car ready for winter, but how about summer? Here are some ideas of how get your car ready for summer.

Tire Maintenance

Tires are just as important in summer as they are in winter. You’ll need to make sure you are checking tread depth and balance. It’s recommended that you rotate your tires every other oil change. Potholes can also wreak havoc on your front-end alignment. It’s important that your alignment is checked and your tires are properly balanced.

Oil Change

High heat and long distances are hard on oil. Oil’s job is to keep the engine lubricated and to keep friction to a minimum. It would be hard to overstate how important clean oil is to your safety. You want to keep your vehicles oil clean and at the right levels. Make sure to replace your oil and filters regularly so that your car isn’t in danger of overheating this summer.
