We’re at a critical juncture for a lot of automakers around the industry. Many different brands seem to be laying out their plans for the future, with some of them looking to make pretty ambitious changes. Kia is among them, as they just recently launched their new brand strategy and held a digital showcase to highlight all of their own future ambitions. We thought we’d highlight a few of the interesting and exciting changes and plans the company has announced.

For starters, Kia Motors has officially decided to change its name to simply Kia, as they look to expand their purview beyond just motor vehicles to more widespread mobility solutions.
What is Plan S?
Along with that, Plan S is the company’s long-term business strategy that they actually announced last year. The automaker looks to establish itself as a leader in the “future mobility industry,” spreading beyond just motor vehicles to include electric vehicles, vehicles built with a specific purpose, and many other mobility solutions and services beyond the norm of an ordinary motor company.
Electric Vehicle Future
Finally, what might be most exciting for you, is the announcement that the company intends to introduce a whopping seven new electric-only vehicles by 2027. Not only that, but the first dedicated BEV – Battery Electric Vehicle – will be making its debut soon enough, alongside the brand’s new vehicle design philosophy.
